In this section, we will install the software required to develop custom firmwares for Xiaomi devices.
Pre-requisites:
- A computer running Windows 7 or newer (If you are a Mac or Linux users, you can use a virtualized machine running windows. you will need to forward the usb connection to the virtual machine).
- your USB to serial module drivers must to be installed.
- An account on NXP website . It is free to create. You will need it to download the required software.
Installation:
- Download and install JN-SW-4171 - BeyondStudio for NXP
- Download and install JN-SW-4168 - JN516x ZigBee Home Automation SDK
Make sure to install these two parts of software within their default directory. Changing the directory structures will cause many issues
Run BeyondStudio.
At the prompt create the workspace at the following loction: C:\NXP\beyond_nxp\workspace
